It’s got to be my lucky month - I got to watch to one of my few favorite man of this world: Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. This man does not give interviews, and this one was a real treat (I’ve enjoyed it as much, as I did the one with his colleague Justice Clarance Thomas). The guy was interviewed my an old “60 Minutes” bimbo - Lasley Stahl. It is embarrassing to watch a mature woman, who is trying to make a hit piece on a man that she despises, yet she tries to by “objective”. I was truly amazed how brilliant Antonin Scalia was in dealing with this disingenuous woman:
Here is the first part of the interview:

I love the way he finished the segment:

“… Anyway, this is my view, and … it happens to be correct!”

and the second one:

Justice Scalia comes across as a confident, yet very humble human being. In this video, when asked (or rather attacked by the self proclaimed jurnalist) about his Catholicism, and a possible influence on his legal opinions, he made a very eye opening remark. He reminded his critics that philosophy of constitutional originality actually prevents him (intellecually at least) to impose prohibition of abortion in USA. Why? Because United States Constititution says NOTHING about the subject. He pointed out that the “other” site (the “evil” pro-life folks) often argues that unborn child is indeed protected by the “equal protection clause”. However, according to him, this would also be the “stretch” as the arguments of the oposing ideology. So … do liberals still want him (or Justice Clarence Thomas) to leave the court? One word of wisdom - watch what you wish for, you may get it!

I hope that CBS does not remove these two clips from their web site.

Justice Scalia more and more ventures into book writing. His latest book is coming out in few days. I can’t wait to read it.

United States is greeting a very spacial guest today, Pope Benedict XVI. Today is his birthday, which this nation was delighted to celebrate with the successor to the other great Pope - John Paul II. There is something about this successor to the Saint Peter, that draws millions too him.
Holly Father and the President in front of the White House
President George W. Bush has been thrilled in being able to great the new leader of Catholic Church.
Many times, I have criticized George Bush for being to weak and to wobbly on affairs of today’s world, but today he made me proud again. As he greeted Pope Benedict XVI, he stated”

Most of all, Holy Father, you will find in America people whose hearts are open to your message of hope,…In a world where some treat life as something to be debased and discarded, we need your message that all human life is sacred, and that each of us is willed, each of us is loved, and each of us is necessary.

I believe, that the President said it just right. So, Welcome to America and Happy Birthday Holly Father!

If it wasn’t for some talented people with a sense of humor, one could get in to a serious depression. Here are two funny clips from increasingly my most favorite place on Internet - YouTube:

Here is the first proof for “global warming” to exist:

Also, in our schools we can find tangible proof for the climate change (in addition to decaying education in US schools):

Funny, aah?

For years, I’ve been telling my friends - “Don’t go to Mexico- it is not safe out there!”. It seems that in recent years it became so dangerously, that EVEN AP started noticing the obvious:
Top story on unsafe trips to Mexico.

Personally, I don’t see ANY reason to go to this corrupt, third world country. It has nothing to offer that US or Canada or Europe can (Have you been to Poland or Slovakia lately? They ARE both, beautiful and safe!). Oh yea - the pyramids. HOW CARES about a pile of rocks? Wouldn’t you rather go to Hawaii, have a good time and NOT be raped like one of the women described by the article :

Lori Hoffman, a San Diego-area emergency room nurse, said she was sexually assaulted Oct. 23 by two masked men in front of her boyfriend, San Diego Surfing Academy owner Pat Weber, who was forced to kneel at gunpoint for 45 minutes. They were at a campground with about 30 tents, some 200 miles south of the border.
The men shot out windows of the couple’s trailer and forced their way inside, ransacked the cupboards and left with about $7,000 worth of gear, including computers, video equipment and a guitar.

So, you obviously have serious crime in the region and the authorities (that includes American) are not concerned too much.

Local media and surfing Web sites that trumpeted Baja in the past have reported several frightening crimes that U.S. and Mexican officials consider credible.

Like there was NO credible evidence of police corruption and crimes committed on foreigners in the past… suuuure.

Americans have long tolerated shakedowns by police who boost salaries by pulling over motorists for alleged traffic violations

So the police extortion was considered “normal” and not a problem. Thanks for clarify this small “misunderstanding”…

OK, after a “upgrading the blog” night, I had a “make-as-many-chruściki-as-you-can” day.

Well, we will see if folks this Sunday will appreciate my mom’s and mine hard work. Chruściki are usually very popular among our friends whenever we decide to make them (mom’s recipe as you may have guessed).

If you are in San Jose and decide to see why chruściki are so popular, you can attend our Polish Festival this coming Sunday. You can find driving directions on:

Make sure to try pierogi as well. I did some time spent some wonderful time making almost 7000-but-who-is-counting quite a few of them.

See you there.
